Vanessa Casas

Vanessa is the Field Programs Manager for Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC). She facilitates project planning and related communications with volunteers, land managers, and other partner organizations to prepare for upcoming projects; she also provides on-site management for VOC’s field programs. Vanessa’s passion and strong background in conservation and natural resources helps VOC’s volunteers to experience and create long-lasting connections with the outdoors.

Prior to the Field Programs Manager role, Vanessa was VOC’s Community Programs Coordinator and Seasonal Field Coordinator for one season. Previous seasonal roles with other organizations in the United States, Costa Rica and Colombia include natural resources coordinator, field technician, environmental educator, and visitor center coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin.

Vanessa was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Since she moved to the U.S she has lived in Wisconsin, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and now Colorado where she plans to stay and live for a while.
