Sarah Nix is the Administrative Assistant for Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC). She provides administrative support to VOC’s staff and coordinates room rentals. Sarah has over 15 years of experience providing excellent customer service and administrative support, and over 8 years of experience working in nonprofits. She is a creative thinker and collaborator, and she loves creating new organizational systems. She is passionate about contributing her skills to organizations that serve the community.

Prior to joining VOC in February, Sarah coordinated mental health trainings for therapists across the country. From 2019-2021 she worked on a grant funded project at the Denver Art Museum that focused on improving the mental health and wellness of older adults through sensory experiences in nature. She has a BFA in General Fine Arts from Herron School of Art and Design, Indianapolis, IN.

Sarah is a visual artist and poet. She is the 2023 Artist in Residence for 40 West Arts, a nonprofit in Lakewood dedicated to bringing art experiences to an underserved community. Outside of work at VOC and her art studio, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband Brad and her chihuahua mix, Frida.
