Earn Community Service Hours Outdoors

Whether you’re earning student service hours or completing court-ordered community service for a non-violent offense, you can complete your hours by volunteering on a VOC project. All projects take place outdoors and are supervised by trained staff and volunteer leaders.

VOC offers community service opportunities only through our scheduled volunteer projects.


Our
project calendar opens each March, with volunteer opportunities running April through October. Projects fill quickly, so early sign-ups are encouraged.

Community Service FAQs

How many hours can I earn?


  • Single-day project: ~8 volunteer hours
  • Overnight weekend project: ~16 volunteer hours
  • Hours may vary slightly depending on the project location and schedule

Are there age requirements?


  • Under 16 on single-day projects: Must volunteer with an accompanying adult
  • Ages 16–17 on single-day projects: Can volunteer independently with a parent/guardian’s signed permission
  • Under 18 on overnight projects: Must be accompanied by an adult
  • Ages 18+: No restrictions
