Andy Rylance

Born and raised in the North East of England, Andy was introduced to the outdoors by his parents at a very early age. During family trips to the English Lake District he would hike and attempt to climb every rock he could find (usually getting himself stuck half way up!) At the age of 15 he joined a climbing club and spent most weekends climbing and hiking throughout the UK and Europe. When not outdoors he studied Electronic Engineering at Sunderland University and went on to the join the BBC as a broadcast engineer.

In 1989, Andy left the UK to work in the Sultanate of Oman, and subsequently worked and lived in many countries including Italy, Ireland, and Singapore before moving to Connecticut to join ESPN in 2008.

Andy was offered the position of Director of Technology and Operations with Denver 7 in March 2018 and jumped at the opportunity to move to the great state of Colorado. Every weekend, Andy now faces the difficult decision as to whether he should go climbing, hiking, mountain biking, or for a trail run! Usually the decision ends in taking part in at least three of these activities!

Andy lives in Arvada with his wife and two teenage sons. His sons share his passion in rock climbing, hiking, and mountain biking as well as being active rowers.
