As a Tool Manager, you'll help VOC projects run smoothly and safely by collaborating with staff and fellow volunteers to plan, pack, and manage the tools and gear needed for each project.
If you're new to this, Keep in mind that you won’t be on your own. We have structures to support you as you learn and grow into the role.

Step 1
Help load or unload tools at our Operations Center in Lakewood. There are tool loading & unloading opportunities on our website from April - October.

Step 2
Attend Tool Manager Training (usually held in April).

Step 3
Shadow a certified Tool Manager on a project as a trainee.

Step 4
Practice managing tools with guidance. Once you feel ready, you’ll be certified and celebrated with a hat ceremony on your next project!

Register for Tool Manager Training.

Step 2
Serve as a trainee on a project and learn from a certified Tool Manager.

Step 3

Why TOOL MANAGERS ARE IMPORTANT
Every VOC project relies on the right tools, from shovels and saws to safety vests and gloves. The team members managing these logistics are the backbone of our projects, making sure everything arrives, stays organized, and gets returned ready for next time.
