Groups & Schools

Our hands-on programs are perfect for schools and youth groups looking to learn about, and give back, to Colorado's outdoors.

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) offers a variety of opportunities for youth groups of all sizes and ages to get involved in outdoor stewardship:

        • Register for a public volunteer project. We offer 50+ volunteer opportunities throughout the state each year from April - October. Browse our project calendar and use the 'Youth Ages Allowed' filter to find one that's right for your group. Then email us or call 303-715-1010 ext. 116 to register. Please note that while we work to accommodate groups of any size, there may be some limitations depending on the project scope. Check out our Volunteer FAQ to learn more about VOC projects.
        • Set up an ongoing partnership. We believe the best way to inspire the next generation of outdoor stewards is through ongoing involvement that include aspects of play, learn, and care. If you are interested in exploring an ongoing partnership, please email Taylor Driver or call 303-715-1010 ext. 114 to get started!
        • Request a Youth SWAT (Stewardship with a Team) project. Please note we are at capacity for Youth SWATs this season. Check back with us later! For youth groups of 20+ people, looking for a one-day, one time program VOC offer a limited number of customizable projects. We coordinate these in partnership with land managers throughout the state and projects can be half-day, full-day, or ongoing opportunities.

We also recommend high school educators and counselors check out our award-winning Cairn Youth Program, open to high school students across the Front Range. Unfortunately, we typically cannot accommodate individual student volunteer opportunities outside of our regular project season or Cairn program.
