7 Rad Reasons to Become a VOC Crew Leader!

With the heart of project season right upon us, it's time to ramp up for another incredibly rewarding and successful season of caring for Colorado -- and we need your help!

A very fun and extremely important volunteer leadership role within the VOC community is our crew leader position. Ask any of our crew leaders -- like Robin Donner, Denny Farrell, and Stephanie Jarvis, to name a few -- what they love most about serving in this role and you'll see that they boil it down to eight rad reasons:
  1. Meet and get to know the most amazing people who share your passion for conservation service and the outdoors. New to town? Want to meet new friends or just expand beyond your bubble? You'll meet great volunteers and fellow leaders on projects!
  2. Learn valuable skills. Build your resume with marketable leadership experience and practical work skills.
  3. Make a tangible impact and a REAL difference. Crew leaders contribute in a major way to the productivity and sustainability of VOC's projects.
  4. Visit beautiful places around Colorado. Enjoy, explore, and crew lead on projects all across the state.
  5. Get a cool hat. That's right, all crew leaders receive a coveted CREW LEADER baseball cap embroidered with the VOC logo!
  6. Receive VIP registration. Volunteer leaders are able to register for all VOC projects as soon as they open in early March. This special perk is available whether wanting to lead on a project, or simply volunteer.
  7. Enjoy exclusive socializing and recognition events, from a mid-season potluck to Volunteer Awards & Appreciation Night in the fall.
The best part is that we're holding a crew leader training later this month, and we want YOU on board! Register now for the VOC Crew Leader Training on August 26-27 in Evergreen and learn more about VOC leadership.
