Stories From The Field

"I moved to Colorado in 1961, and there are places that I would have never visited without VOC and met folks who I have been friends with for 25 years."
Steve West began as a volunteer and, over the years, grew into multiple leadership roles. His journey highlights the many ways VOC empowers volunteers to grow, lead, and make a lasting impact on Colorado’s outdoors.
Like Steve, hundreds of volunteers have discovered that VOC is more than just the work. It's a community of passionate stewards who care deeply about Colorado's outdoor spaces.
