Support VOC with an IRA Charitable Rollover
Give Tax-Efficiently From Your IRA While Supporting Colorado’s Public Lands
IRA Charitable Rollover
This special opportunity is for those aged 70 ½ years old and up to give directly from your IRA account to a qualified charity without having to pay income taxes on your gift. This popular gift option is commonly called an IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD).
Gifts of any value of $108,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference towards VOC’s mission.
Beginning the year you turn 73, your donations may satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).
You will pay no income taxes on your gift, so you benefit even if you don’t itemize your deductions.
Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help to lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
MAKE A TAX-FREE GIFT FROM YOUR IRA
If you are age 70½ or older, you can give directly from your IRA to VOC without paying income tax on the distribution.
MEET YOUR REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION
Starting the year you turn 73, your qualified charitable distribution can satisfy all or part of your RMD while supporting VOC’s mission.
REDUCE YOUR TAXABLE INCOME
Because your gift is not counted as income, it may lower your Medicare premiums and reduce the taxable portion of your Social Security benefits.
