Description

Open to volunteers and employees from any organization, this course is ideal for those who have prior trail project experience.

Sharpen your skills before the stewardship season gets into full swing! In this weekend workshop, you'll have the opportunity to learn from the best in the trail-building business, including OSI Instructors and VOC Crew Leaders who have been building and maintaining trails for decades. Whether you sign up for one or both days, you'll get to practice, improve, and expand upon your knowledge in trail construction, rock work, drainage structures, and other sustainable trail practices.

This year, rock work skills will be our focus, specifically rock walls and steps as well as construction of switchback turns. We may also have the chance to work on drainage structures and other skills that present themselves during the weekend.

You may register for one or both days.

Meals are provided and campsites are available. Indoor dormitory space will be made available if the weather is not suitable for camping. Saturday dinner will be provided by the trainees in our concurrent Backcountry Crew Chef Training!

Cost: $80*. Refunds will be provided to those who cancel at least 2 weeks before the training date.
*A discounted rate of $55 is available for those who meet one or more of the following qualifications:

Contact Dan Williams at 303-715-1010 ext. 117 to sign up at the discounted rate.
