We believe everyone has a place in caring for Colorado.
You don't have to pick up a shovel to be a good steward. If you can't make it to one of our 50+ volunteer projects hosted each year from April - October, there are still plenty of ways to have a positive impact on the outdoor places you love! Whether you hit the trails every weekend or prefer the view from your porch, here are a few resources to help you find the small ways you can make a difference:
- Familiarize yourself with Leave No Trace principles. From your backyard to the backcountry, these 7 principles help you enjoy nature while preserving it for generations to come.
- Go deeper with Tread Lightly's activity-specific tips. Whether you're hunting, hiking, camping or jet-skiing, Tread Lightly! has quick tips on how to be respectful of the environment and others.
- Peruse VOC's Blog, where we share educational stories about the need for stewardship and various DIY Stewardship tips like how to plan a Colorado-friendly fall hike or drive.
