Since 1986, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) has been a leading source of training programs that prepare people to be outdoor stewardship leaders. VOC’s Outdoor Stewardship Institute (OSI) trains hundreds of leaders every year, not only to lead VOC volunteers, but also to assist government agencies and stewardship organizations across the U.S.
Skilled, effective leadership is critical both to delivering a rewarding volunteer experience, and to ensuring stewardship work is productive and sustainable. Simply put, we could not do our work without VOC volunteer leaders.
Volunteer Leadership Opportunities with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado
VOC is always looking for volunteers interested in stepping into leadership roles. Learn more about VOC leadership opportunities, including crew leading, tool management, crew chef work, and more. Most leadership positions require training, which is available through the OSI (Note: most training courses are discounted or free for committed VOC volunteers).
Training Opportunities Through the Outdoor Stewardship Institute Training Program
VOC’s OSI Training Program is for anyone involved in outdoor stewardship work. All our training courses are open to the public and provide skills and training applicable to any outdoor stewardship situation. Members, volunteers, and employees from other agencies and organizations are welcome to join any of our scheduled classes – either in-person or online.
